Barmouth Community First Responders get together at least every two weeks. Following our initial training, we need to ensure we keep up our training and are ready to deal with any incident we are called to attend. This month, most of the team members will be undertaking further assessments. These take place every six months to ensure all members are up to date with their skills and training.
Welcome to the Barmouth First Responders news page. Here will keep everyone who visits our site up to date with news about Barmouth first responder team and events that take place.
Autumn News Letter 2008
A busy summer serving our community
Since Barmouth First Responders were set up in April 2008, we have been called upon to provide assistance over 100 times. Although our official opening was held in Barmouth on 22 nd August, many members of the team had been assisting the Ambulance Service right through the holiday season.
The members of Barmouth Community First Responders are volunteers, living and working in and around the town. Over the summer, we have assisted locals and visitors alike, all over the local area.
First Responders in the Community
Three members of the Barmouth Community First Responders were recently invited to a WI meeting. The local ladies were given a detailed talk by Glyn Jones, co-ordinator of Barmouth Community First Responders. Glyn spoke at length about the work Community First Responders do in the local community, the training undertaken and even showed some of the equipment used to carry out our responsibilities. Questions were answered by Glyn, Nina Huntley and Elly Downing. Barmouth Community First Responders would like to thank the WI for the kind invitation and their generous donation (and the tasty sandwiches and cakes, of course!)
Barmouth Community First Responders were represented this Autumn at the Civic Service and Remembrance Sunday. Barmouth Community First Responders also provided first aid cover for the Bonfire and Fireworks on 5 th November.
